Here’s what goes into these gluten free apple cider donuts:
- Gluten free flours – I use a blend of sorghum flour, potato starch, and coconut flour for added moistness. Learn more about sorghum here.
- Baking Staples – Baking powder and salt.
- Cinnamon – if you don’t use spiced cider, feel free to add additional spices like allspice, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Apple cider (not apple juice) – preferably a spiced blend like Trader Joe’s Spiced Cider.
- Avocado oil or melted coconut oil.
- Maple syrup or brown sugar
- Almond milk or your favorite dairy-free milk

Notes
- Use a gluten free flour blend without xanthan gum in place of the sorghum/tapioca/coconut flours.
- Use any plain, unsweetened plant-based milk in place of the almond milk.
- Use plain apple cider if you don’t have spiced cider. Feel free to add additional spices such as nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.
- Coconut oil tastes delicious in these donuts-try it in place of the avocado oil if you’re not concerned about saturated fat.
