Hi & welcome! I’m EA Stewart, MBA, RDN, a registered dietitian nutritionist, recipe developer, & founder of The Spicy RD.

I love helping people improve their health with flavorful, plant-forward, gluten-free recipes and evidence-based nutrition advice to support gut health, reduce inflammation, and promote vibrant aging.

I’m also the proud recipe creator for the newly published (2026) New York Times bestselling book Plant Powered Plus, for which I developed 52 plant-forward recipes to support gut health and reduce inflammation. Welcome to my kitchen!

My Nutrition Philosophy

After decades as a dietitian, I’ve learned there’s no one-size-fits-all diet. Instead, I believe in a flexible, evidence-based approach that focuses on:

  • Whole, minimally processed foods.
  • Plenty of colorful plants.
  • Foods that support gut and brain health.
  • Balance. Because life’s too short not to eat the damn cookie!

Healthy eating shouldn’t feel restrictive—it should feel delicious, satisfying, and realistic for YOUR life.

When I’m not cooking or talking about nutrition, you’ll probably find me:

  • Hiking or playing tennis (I’m obsessed!)
  • Traveling with my hubby (aka Mr. Spicy).
  • Exploring nature & walking my two pups, Kai and Mak.
  • Missing my kids, SiSi (24 in London) and Big Tex (22 in Denver).

One day, I’d love to retire to a goat farm… though Mr. Spicy is lobbying hard for a house near a ski resort in Montana. I’m looking forward to whatever adventure awaits us!
