Granulated sugar for sprinkling on top of doughnutsoptional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Grease a 6-count standard doughnut pan with avocado oil and set aside.
Combine the sorghum flour, tapioca starch, coconut flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir well with a fork until well combined.
Add the apple cider, almond milk, avocado oil, and maple syrup to the dry ingredients. Stir well with a fork or whisk, until allthe ingredients are well combined. The batter will be somewhat thick.
Spoon the batter in to greased doughnut pan, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until baked through and light golden brown on top.
Allow doughnuts to cool for 5 minutes, then carefully remove from pan. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon if desired.
Notes
Ingredient Swaps
Use a gluten free flour blend without xanthan gum in place of the sorghum/tapioca/coconut flours.
Use any plain, unsweetened plant-based milk in place of the almond milk.
Use plain apple cider if you don't have spiced cider. Feel free to add additional spices such as nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.
Coconut oil tastes delicious in these donuts-try it in place of the avocado oil if you're not concerned about saturated fat.
