What is the MRT Food Sensitivity Test?

This healthy chopped superfood salad with kale, blueberries, & almonds can be tossed together in less than 10 minutes. Add your favorite protein, and you have a nourishing AND delicious lunch or dinner. | Recipe at EA Stewart, The Spicy RD @thespicyrd is gluten free & low FODMAP, with vegan, and paleo options.

MRT stands for Mediator Release Testing, and it’s a patented blood test that quantifies your personal inflammatory response to foods and food-chemicals, letting you know not just what foods you should stay away from, but more importantly which foods are your BEST foods. that cause the least amount of reactivity.

What is the LEAP Diet?

Your MRT results form the basis of your LEAP Diet Anti-Inflammatory Eating Plan. LEAP is the most effective “elimination diet” because it is customized specifically to your personal food sensitivities.

What health conditions can the MRT food sensitivity test & personalized LEAP diet help me with?

Research has shown that sensitivities to food, even “healthy” foods, can lead to inflammation, and a wide range of symptoms & chronic health conditions including:

  • IBS {Irritable Bowel Syndrome} & IBD {Inflammatory Bowel Disease}, including Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis
  • Migraine and other headaches
  • Autoimmune diseases {Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Hashimoto’s Thyroid Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Sjogren’s Syndrome, and more}
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Acid reflux
  • Skin conditions, including eczema & psoriasis
  • Brain fog & extreme fatigue
  • ADD/ADHD
  • And, more…

How Do Food Sensitivities Cause Inflammation?

What foods are analyzed on the MRT Food Sensitivity Test?

The MRT Food Sensitivity test analyzes 170 commonly eaten foods and food chemicals. While a typical elimination diet has you avoid common allergens such as wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, fish, shellfish, soy, peanuts, & tree nuts, I found out that I was sensitive to foods such as rice, tomatoes, apples, and many more. Speaking from personal experience, after removing my personal inflammatory foods for 6 months, I was able to reintroduce most of them back into my diet, at least on an occasional basis.

If you’ve tried multiple diets, including anti-inflammatory, Mediterranean, gluten free, dairy free, paleo, autoimmune paleo, vegan, low carb, and more, but you’re still not feeling great, the MRT food sensitivity test and LEAP diet may be just what you need to start feeling good again!

How Can I Find MRT Testing Near Me?

As a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) I am available to work with clients at my office in Del Mar, as well as virtually via video chat or phone. If you live outside of the San Diego area and prefer to work with a LEAP dietitian in person, I’m happy to make a referral-just let me know!
