Simple snacking at it's best! Trader Joes Salt and Pepper Pistachio Nuts and a Tangerine! This simple snack: Trader Joes Salt and Pepper Pistachio Nuts + Satsuma tangerines

Tangerine season makes me so happy! Even better than a tangerine? Pair one with these {slightly addictive} salt and pepper pistachio nuts from Trader Joes. Oh, my. It’s the ultimate in simple, nourishing, happy, healthy snacking! No Trader Joes near you? A friend told me that Costco has their own equally addictive salt and pepper pistachio nuts as well. Simply fabulous and so healthy too! What have you been snacking on lately??

This homemade raspberry lemon sauce is a healthy family favorite and so easy to make! Enjoy it on top of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, pancakes, waffle, and French Toast! This {super easy} homemade raspberry lemon sauce…

It seems that lately clan Stewart can’t get enough of homemade fruit sauce at our house. I made this batch with frozen organic raspberries and lemon juice, but you can substitute any frozen berries you have on hand-it’s a delicious way to enjoy berries all year long! We like ours on top of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, waffles, french toast and pancakes {like these Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes and this super yummy Dutch Baby Pancake, but I’d love to know what you’d put yours on top of!Want to make your own? Here’s how: Heat 1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Stir in 1 bag frozen raspberries or other berries + 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup + a squeeze of fresh lemon juice + a pinch of sea salt. Cook over medium heat until berries have softened and sauce has thickened slightly. Enjoy!

Hanging out at Balboa Park on a sunny afternoon is one of my favorite things to do in San Diego! This “date” with my sweet daughter at Balboa Park…

Last week I played hookie from work {easy to do when you’re the boss!} and spent the afternoon at Balboa park with SiSi. She had a couple of days off from school, so we saw The Discovery of King Tut exhibit at The San Diego Natural History Museum {highly recommend!}, had lunch at Panama 66 {very yummy!}, and she humored me with a walk through the Botanical Gardens 🙂 Such a fun day, and a great reminder of how important it is to spend a little one-on-one time with your kids! Parents-Do you plan “dates” with your kids? What are your favorite things to do??

Antioxidant rich white tea, may provide beauty benefits, as one study has found that white tea provides protection against collagen and elastin breakdown. More studies are needed, but in the meantime, it can't hurt to enjoy a daily cup {or more} of this delicious Vanilla Coconut White tea from The Republic of Tea. | Spicy RD NutritionThis Vanilla Coconut White Tea from The Republic of Tea

If you’re a regular visitor to The Spicy RD, you probably know that I ♥ tea {and coffee too!}, so when my friends at The Republic of Tea asked me if I wanted to try any one of their MANY varieties of tea {black, oolong, green, white, matcha, rooibos, herbal}, I was game to try. I’ve long been a fan of their Vanilla Almond Black Tea {Mr. Spicy’s favorite}, their Double Matcha Green Tea, and their Caramel Apple Rooibos Tea {SiSi and Big Tex’s favorite}, and now I have another favorite in this Vanilla Coconut White Tea. When you open the canister, instant aromatherapy! I am a fan of all varieties of tea, especially green which has been extensively studied for its health benefits, but did you know White Tea is super rich in antioxidants too? And another interesting bit of research that I’m digging is that white tea may help our skin look younger too. Did you read that?? It’s preliminary, but results of a research study at Kingston University in London showed that white tea prevented the activity of enzymes that break down elastin and collagen. Hello gorgeous! The jury’s out on how many cups of white tea one would need to consume to potentially make our skin look younger, but, in the meantime, it certainly can’t hurt to enjoy a cup {or 2 or 3} daily now, can it? Cheers! Disclosure: I received a free canister of Vanilla Coconut White Tea from The Republic of Tea. I was not asked to write about it, nor was a compensated to write this post. As always, my thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Crest Canyon Trail in Del Mar {San Diego} is a great place to run or walk. Dogs are allowed on leashes, and you can take the trail all the way to the San Dieguito Lagoon. This running/walking trail in Del Mar: Crest Canyon

It was so wonderful to be able to enjoy a blissful Sunday after a busy week! Nothing spectacular happened…I woke up and had coffee in bed, then snuggled up on the sofa to watch a little TV with Big Tex {Young Frankenstein-which I loved, but wasn’t really his thing}. After that I decided to go for a run. I was a little worried it would be hard, since I hadn’t been running in several weeks, but you know what? With a gorgeous day, great workout tunes, and this trail above, I had absolutely zero complaints! After the run I got a little work done, then baked another batch of these AMAZING Pepper Jack Stuffed Mushrooms, and headed over to our friends’ house to watch the Super Bowl-great food, great company, and, I have to say, a pretty good game. At least the last 5 minutes that I watched 🙂 All-in-all, a pretty perfect weekend day! What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day? Did you watch The Super Bowl? All of it??

Thank you so much for reading this post! I’d love to chat with you more, so leave a comment, share a tip, or ask a question! And, if you think your friends would enjoy this post, I’d truly appreciate you sharing with it them too.
