Spicy Apple Gingertini {Join Me in a Celebration!}

It’s hard for me to believe, but The Spicy RD Blog is 1 year old today!

And, honestly, I wouldn’t have kept up The Spicy RD blog this past year without the support, encouragement, comments, and most especially shared laughs with all of you, my awesome readers, so THANK YOU from the bottom {and top :-) } of my heart! You guys ROCK!

I realized my one year mark was coming up last week after reading Amy’s fun blogoversary post over at The Fearless Homemaker where she celebrated with a glass of champagne.

After that, I started looking back back on all my posts from the past year, and came to the realization that I have no libations posted on my blog.

Shame on me!

So, what better way to celebrate my 1 year blogoversary, than with a cocktail.

Not just any cocktail mind you, but one that’s got a hint of spice.

Naturally!

In this case, ginger.

Here’s my super easy recipe…

Spicy Apple Gingertini

  • 3 1/2 ounces ginger apple juice {recipe below}
  • 2 1/2 ounces chilled vodka {I used Tito’s Handmade Vodka}
  • Ice
  • Fresh apple slice for garnish

Combine ginger apple juice, vodka, and ice in cocktail shaker.  Shake well and pour through strainer in to martini glass.  Garnish with fresh apple slice and serve.

Ginger Apple Juice

  • 2 cups apple juice/cider
  • 3-4 ounces fresh ginger, sliced.

Combine apple juice/cider and ginger in a pan and heat on high until boiling.  Turn down heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.  Cool in fridge.

And, if libations aren’t your thing, you can make a delicious “mocktail” by combining 1/2 part ginger apple juice with 1/2 part sparkling water.  It tastes especially tasty and spicy with Ayala’s Sparkling Cinnamon Orange Peel Herbal Water!

Cheers, and a HUGE thank you again for all your support!
