December Fitness Challenge Check-In and a Delicious Gluten-Free Cookie Giveaway

Can you believe we’re halfway through the month of December, and halfway through the #DecFit Challenge???

How’s everyone doing with their challenge so far?

I’ve been getting my exercise the fun way these past few days…

Using this fitness calculator, I estimated that I burned 600 calories for each hour I skied.

Not bad…

Not bad at all considering I got in several hours of skiing over the course of my trip!

{P.S….I know I burned a lot of calories, because I was absolutely EXHAUSTED at the end of each day, but I’m sure the apres ski hot tub and glass of wine added a little bit to my sleepiness too!}

Unfortunately, only 3 days of my #DecFit Challenge workouts this month have been spent skiing, but, on the flip side, I have managed to complete all but one of my scheduled workout days thanks to you!

There have been SEVERAL days this month where I have almost skipped my workout, but I knew I would have to report back to you all, so I didn’t 🙂

I’d love to hear how you are all doing as well!

But, first,  let’s move on to my delicious gluten-free cookie giveaway…

In the giving spirit of the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to share a gluten-free baking company with you that gives back to the community not only during the holiday season, but year round as well.

That company is Helping Hands Bakery,  created by Bridget Lane, a mom of three young sons with autism.

Bridget wanted to make a difference in her community and created Helping Hands Bakery as a means of not only creating tasty, gluten-free baked goods, but also as a way of providing jobs and job training for persons with special needs.

For me, the best thing about Helping Hands Bakery is the difference they are making in the special needs community, but also super important is the fact that their cookies are bars are delicious as well!

Here are some of the offerings that I tried…

  • Monster Cookie Bites
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites
  • Pumpkin Tea Cakes
  • Boulder Bars
  • Papa’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar

All the treats were fresh and delicious, but my favorite was probably the Boulder Bar which is loaded with healthy add-in’s such as almonds, coconut, flax meal, sunflower seeds, cranberries, and, oh yes, chocolate chips!

A close second was Papa’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar, which was moist and delicious and reminiscent of an old fashioned Toll House Chocolate Chip Bar.

For me, the great thing about all the Helping Hands Baked Goods, is that they are full of whole, minimally processed ingredients and don’t contain added artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

And, now, Helping Hands is giving away the newest offering, Papa’s Chocolate Cookie Bars, as Gift Packs {valued at $25.00 each} to four of my lucky readers!
